Intact Community Centre
Located in the heart of Ingol, The Intact Centre is a welcoming community hub offering support and volunteering opportunities for people around Ingol, Tanterton and the wider Preston area. Established in 1993, the centre has grown into a vibrant one‑stop destination where residents can access practical help, build new skills, and enjoy a wide range of activities in a friendly, inclusive environment.
At The Intact Centre, visitors can make use of drop‑in advice services covering welfare, debt, consumer issues, and general guidance. The centre also provides digital support, employability programmes, and training opportunities designed to help people gain confidence, improve prospects, and stay connected.
A rich programme of health, wellbeing, and leisure activities runs throughout the year, including arts and crafts, walking groups, family sessions, and community events. Facilities such as the community hall, training rooms, and Whitby’s Café make it easy for people to learn, relax, and come together.
For those facing financial challenges, Whitby’s Pantry offers access to good‑quality, affordable food in a supportive and dignified setting. Behind the centre, visitors can also enjoy Dobcroft Nature Reserve, a peaceful green space that enhances wellbeing and brings people closer to nature.
With dedicated staff, volunteers, and strong community partnerships, The Intact Centre continues to make a real difference—offering connection, support, and opportunity at the heart of Preston.
