Ribble Rivers Trust
Ribble Rivers Trust is a Lancashire-based charity working to improve the River Ribble and all its tributaries for both people and wildlife. For more than 25 years we have been working with local people as well as dozens of partner organisations to deliver river improvements across the entire Ribble catchment.

We offer volunteering opportunities, events and activities such as guided walks. We also work with schools to provide educational sessions. Our wider team also undertake physical river improvements such as weir removals, installing fish passes, creating wetlands and delivering natural flood management interventions. Our Land Management team provide free, confidential farm advice and create numerous new woodlands each year.

We are a data and evidence-led organisation, using nearly 30 years of data to guide our work, identify opportunities and highlight priorities. This allows us to ensure our work provides the maximum benefit for wildlife and people.

Volunteering opportunities include tasks such as tree planting, litter picking, removing invasive non-native species such as Himalayan balsam, fencing and hedgerow creation. We also have volunteers supporting our education activities. We also have opportunities to get involved in citizen science, by collecting and analysing riverfly samples and taking part in water quality monitoring events.
