The Local Care Agency
The Local Care provides tailor-made, person-centred community care to adults living in Fleetwood, Thornton-Cleveleys, Poulton-le-Fylde and Carleton. As a locally-run family service, we deliver safe, reliable and compassionate support that enables individuals to remain independent within their own homes.
Each care package is designed following assessment to reflect personal preferences, identified risks and agreed outcomes.
Our services include:
- Regulated Personal Care
- Mental Health
- Medication support
- Meal preparation and shopping
- Support with GP, dental and hospital appointments
- Community access and companionship
- Welfare visits
- Sits and wake and watch (subject to request)
- Dog walking and pet care support
All staff are carefully recruited, enhanced DBS checked, fully vetted and appropriately trained.
We operate in accordance with our internal quality benchmark, the TLC "Mum Test": Would we be completely confident and comfortable for this member of staff to care for our own Mum or loved one? If the answer is not an unequivocal yes, we do not proceed.
We are Care Quality Commission registered for Personal Care and are currently progressing an application to extend our registration to include Learning Disabilities.

Monday to Thursday, 9am to 5pm
Friday, 9am to 4pmCare services delivered seven days per week in line with agreed care packages. Out-of-hours on-call service available.

Services are funded via:
- Lancashire County Council commissioned packages
- Direct Payments
- Private self-funding arrangements
Fees are dependent on assessed need and hours of support. Pricing information available upon request.
